The Louisiana Collegiate News Collective is a partnership of universities formed in 2024, led by Louisiana State University and funded by philanthropic organizations and other donors. Our goals are to help expand local news coverage and to provide experiential learning for student journalists.
What We Do
We put their student journalists into the field across the state to address two critical needs. First, we provide paid work for student journalists to sharpen their skills and prepare them for professional jobs. Second, we address the lack of local news reporting in many communities across the state. It’s a win for student journalists, a win for the local news organizations we partner with and a win for the news consumers across Louisiana.
